Teen's profane tweet about starting a new job gets her fired before the 1st day
After reading this article I wasn't really surprised, just couldn't believe how the owner found the tweet surprised me. Sometimes when you are angry or upset you say something without thinking and I guess this girl did it too but instead of just saying it she tweeted it. This tweet really made me think how you have to really think before just writing something down especially on the internet for all to see. Its one thing to say or think something but to actually right it down is different. I don't think its better or worse, just that if you say something or just think it its easily forgotten by others than if you say it in an electronically when its there permanently even if you delete it. I think that its not fair how electronic mistakes are judged more than others, because somethings we can say things or do things even worse. But unfortunately they are judged more because they are on the internet for everyone to read and judge, so that's why you have to be careful what you say and do on the internet. I am glad that this tweet got known to everyone so it can teach people to think before you tweet or even say something.
"just couldn't believe how the owner found the tweet surprised me" Don't be surprised. It is very well possible that the tweet was passed or retweeted to the owner. Its also possible that the owner was following the prospective employee.
ReplyDeleteYa i guess that's true, i never thought about that

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. And even worse when it is fired out on social media.
By the way, good post, good thinking.
